Independent game studio / Android strategy
Buy low, sail far, sell well
Traids is an independent game studio in Hampshire that builds merchant strategy games for Android. Players run a small trading house, choose routes between ports and react to prices that shift with supply.
Our markets follow simple rules that players can learn and exploit. A good trader in a Traids game wins by understanding the economy. Luck plays a part, as storms and festivals change demand, but those events are announced in advance so that a prepared merchant can profit from them. A detailed ledger records every purchase and sale, letting players look back and see which decisions really paid off over a season.
- Step 01
Readable markets
Every price in a Traids game moves for a visible reason. If a port is flooded with cloth, the cloth price falls, and the ledger shows why.
- Step 02
Routes as puzzles
Choosing where to sail next is a small puzzle about distance, cargo space and timing. Short safe runs and long risky ones both have a place.
- Step 03
Fair rivals
Rival merchants trade by the same rules as the player. They cannot see hidden cargo and they do not receive secret discounts.
- Step 04
Sessions with a harbour
A trading season can be finished in a quarter of an hour, and every voyage ends at a port where the game saves.
- Step 05
Offline play
Traids titles play without a connection. The market simulation runs on the phone itself.
